Why Not Use a Regular Dehumidifier?

The Santa-Fe Basement Air Systems have 10 times the cold surface area of an average dehumidifier and a very unique heat exchange core. This makes it ultra efficient! In fact, the Santa-Fe can remove four times the water out of the air, while only using  the same 6.8 amps of energy as a household dehumidifier.

Dry air is less costly and easier to heat and air condition. A full 30% of an air conditioner's load is to remove humidity. By starting with dry air, you will save on air conditioning costs, due to your Santa-Fe unit!

Drier air also helps with mold and allergens. In general, mold will not grow at less than 50% relative humidity. Dust mites absorb moisture out of the air but typically only in conditions where relative moisture is more than 50%. The Santa-Fe will reduce relative humidty to less than 50% where mold struggles to grow and dust mites will die off.

Why Not Use a Regular Air Purifier?

The Santa-Fe isn't built on hype. It's built to get the job done (think of it as an air purifier on steroids!). Using a standard MERV 11 filter (which is only 1 step below HEPA but with increased air flow)  it removes particles as small as 2 microns from the air. So what does that mean for you? At 4-6 microns is an American households #1 allergen: dust mite feces. Second to that is standard household dust which the Santa-Fe takes care of with ease. Adding to this list, other particles pulled from the air include: Mold, Bacteria, and Smoke Particles.

It will dry the air and automatically drain the water out of a hose, so you never have to empty it, like a conventional dehumidifier.
